Kyoto Machiya Stay -Tsuzure-

Beautiful. Calm. Quiet. Historic. Positive: Beautiful. Calm. Quiet. Historic. Negative: No complaints.

Positive: It felt like a very genuine old property in a very sweet neighbourhood. We got invited in for tea by the neighbours which was an unexpected and lovely experience.

Positive: The room was nice and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. It is quite far out of town. Negative: When booking we did not realise our room was on the ground floor at the front of the building right by reception. The staff were great but as reception was always manned but it made us feel like we could not fully relax as there was always someone right outside our door. It is an old house which is part of the charm but it meant we had a lot of noise from the rooms upstairs which stopped us sleeping. Our room was not properly cleaned on arrival so we had to request for the floor to be cleaned again to remove dust and hair. The washing machine in the room could have been convenient but the handle was broken and it smelt of stagnant water

Positive: Tout simplement incroyable, la chambre, le personnel, tout.

Not worth it Positive: The room was very nice Negative: The location is terrible. It’s also very noisy in the room as it’s directly in the lobby and on the street. The staff are also quite unhelpful, they charged me a full late checkout fee after being late by 10mins
